17-4 PH stainless steel with 304 stainless steel
Type 17-4 PH stainless steel is a martensitic precipitation-hardening stainless steel that is used for applications requiring high strength and a moderate level of corrosion resistance. It has good fabrication characteristics and can be age hardened by a single-step heat treatment. 17-4 PH stainless steel can be welded using most of the traditional methods except oxyacetylene welding. 304 stainless steel is the most widely used stainless steel and is suitable for a variety of applications. It has good corrosion resistance, formability, weldability, and toughness. 304 stainless steel can be used in a variety of corrosive environments and when welding it is important to use the correct filler metal.
